                         a little bout Jing

“no matter which position you are, you are always the best player.”

( by every boss who I have worked for )

I was an industrial designer for eight years in Taiwan. After working for a few companies, I became a junior ID and about to be in charge of the ID team. However I felt confused about all industrial manufacture, I wasn’t sure what is the responsibility or meaning of being a designer. Therefore I left my comfort zone determinedly, wanted to

find out the answer in the world.

Now I am a professional fashion designer,
who graduated from Bunka University, in Tokyo, Japan in 2015. I accepted the very strict

and precise dressmaking education in school. As is well known by people, there is a particular culture in Japan, which impacts the thread of thought in my design too. While I was in school, I worked at Uniqlo as a seamstress, as well as a sales associate. I learned about Total Customer Focus (TCF), which helped me understand how Uniqlo can build its global empire successfully. After graduating, I was part of a new international project called “My Uniqlo” which was personalization and customization of Uniqlo clothing.

Due to my designs, our store sales increased, and also created awareness of our brand, further cultivating customer loyalty. I received the “Design Award” from Uniqlo Corporation in July 2015.

I came to Canada in 2017, and have been working in the fashion industry. It is different from Asia. First of all, the body type of Japanese do not very much, so you will see many people, men, and women alike, in unisex clothing. However, in the western world, it much emphasizes femininity. You can say the fashion in the east focused on implication; west is concentrated in silhouette. Feminine consciousness is much

more awake in the west versus the east. Women clothing here doesn’t hide their figures and menswear varies much more greatly. I am eagerly trying to learn and figure out the difference between the two cultures, and I will build a new mark in the fashion industry out of my vision.
