When I am designing, there are always many concerns about marketing, the target user, cost, safety, 5W1H, …... It is quite stressful and strict. See how Bauhaus affects me! Just kidding. However, doing fluid acrylic paintings you cannot control the colors of the final presentation, what the colors will tell you is very inspiring. Display draping is also a way to jump out from the structure line, the patterns, without any cutting and sewing, just following the fabric flowing to modeling. Using litter is another way to get out from the stereotypes and have fun!
Doing fluid acrylic paintings is a lot of fun. I barely can guess how the colour will come out in the harmony that I expected. Before everything happens, I only can imagine. It is good practice to enhance my colour sensitivity, and it is very inspiring to me.
Display draping does not use any cutting or sewing. I used a whole roll of fabric, heeded the structure cautiously, the colour, the gloss, airy, and then follow the fabric's characteristic. She will tell me how to form her favorite appearance.
I used two colours of satin to create this draping dress. Still, no cutting or sewing, but need to be concerned with the balance of two colours and cannot be burdensome. See the light purple is flowing from neck to back so beautifully, I think I created a very lovely looking of gradient piece.
This litter I gathered from a garbage can, some flyers and styrofoam papers. I used the acrylic paint on the flyers but painted it rough to keep the original colours looming. Styrofoam papers turn to a big bow-knot which dramatized whole design. Who says litter could not be a beautiful creation?
